Solar and battery repairs, maintenance and checks
FixMySolar focuses on the technical and electrical side of solar and battery systems — finding faults, repairing them and checking that systems are operating safely and as expected.

Stopped systems and inverter faults
If your system has stopped producing or the inverter is showing an error, we investigate the cause and explain the repair options.
Unexpected performance changes
A drop in generation or a change in your bills can have several causes. We investigate whether the system is operating as expected. Actual performance depends on the system and site.
Solar and battery maintenance
Routine maintenance can identify issues that need attention. Not every unserviced system has a fault, but a service helps establish its current condition.
Electrical safety and performance checks
A check of the system’s condition, connections and operation, with clear notes on anything that needs attention.
Older or unfamiliar systems
Older systems can benefit from a review of their condition, operation and maintenance history.
Regular servicing
“Energy Safe Victoria recommends having your home solar system serviced by a licensed electrician at least once every two years.”
Servicing can identify issues that need attention. That does not mean every system that has gone without a service is faulty.
All panels lose a small amount of output with age. Servicing cannot reverse normal age-related degradation, and no particular improvement can be guaranteed — but it can identify faults or issues that need attention.
Servicing is not the same as cleaning
Panel cleaning can be useful, but cleaning alone is not an electrical safety check. An electrical service looks at the system’s condition and operation, not just the surface of the panels.
What can go wrong with a system?
Over time, systems may experience issues involving equipment, connections, cabling, inverter operation or performance. These are electrical matters — please do not open or work on solar or battery equipment yourself.
